NGO SPECIAL REGISTER

NGO’s, which aim at taking active part in the implementation of the development cooperation policy of Greece, by materializing, under the auspices of Hellenic Aid, development programmes in recipient countries, are required to register to the N.G.O. Special Register, run by Hellenic Aid-4.  
According to the special provision of article 11 of Law 2731/99, a non-profit private organization is deemed as “non-governmental”, if its main field of activities consists in providing for humanitarian and development assistance to the populations of developing countries, preparative to contributing to their economic and social development as well as the eradication of extreme poverty.
